DRAFT 2026-04 - Current Fire Danger Level is LOW
The Greensprings Rural Fire District (GRFD) provides professional-quality firefighting, emergency medical response, rescue services, and fire prevention education for the Greensprings community of Southern Oregon.
We are an all-volunteer agency, staffed by dedicated residents of the Greensprings and surrounding areas. Our response area extends from the California border north to Dead Indian Memorial Highway, east to the Klamath County line, and west to the Green Springs Mountain Summit. Through mutual and automatic aid agreements, GRFD also assists neighboring Rogue Valley fire districts and communities.
Community support is essential to our mission. Greensprings Fire & Rescue (GSFR)—our nonprofit fundraising branch—drives and manages all fundraising efforts that sustain the District. GSFR hosts community events, manages memberships, and secures donations and grants, providing critical funding for operations, training, and equipment.
GRFD also works with residents on wildfire preparedness. While the Friends of Greensprings (FOG) facilitates the official Firewise program in our area, GRFD participates actively by consulting with property owners and supporting fuels reduction and defensible space projects.
Our fire station is located in the heart of the community, at the corner of Oregon Highway 66 and Hyatt Lake Access Road. Together—with volunteers, GSFR, FOG, and our community partners—we are building a safer, more resilient Greensprings.
